Assunnah Muslims Association (AMA) Canada is one of the city's platforms that foster calling for divine guidance, using all the means which are legal and suitable to people's reality. Among its principal goals, it aims at teaching people the basics of the pathway of Ahl Assunnah wa Al-Jama'a, and working in collaboration with other Islamic institutions for the unity and material and moral support of Muslims.

Dear brothers and sisters,

Over the course of this online campaign, many people have donated. Al-hamdulillah, we feel very humbled with your support.

This is the last day we'll be asking you for your support.

The prophet Muhammad - peace be upon him - swore that "Giving Sadaqah does NOT decrease wealth"

In fact he rephrased that three times.

If you can help in getting us closer to the original goal of 100 Sadaqah Seeds by donating multiple Sadaqah Seeds, then that would be much appreciated and may Allah SWT reward you for that.

Alhamdulillah, the response from the community has been very encouraging. We have surpassed last Wednesday's target of 50 Sadaqah Seeds.

With Sheikh Ismail's boost on Facebook, we're hoping that insha'a Allah we'll reach the original target of 100 Sadaqah Seeds by this Sunday.

Today is Friday, the most blessed day of the week.

However, do not underestimate whatever large or small amount you give. Remember the prophet Muhammad's - peace be upon him- saying:

Protect yourself from (Hell) Fire, by giving even half of a date (in charity). (Al-Bukhari and Muslim)

Nothing is beyond Allah SWT. If He wills to give provisions to His house, He will make it happen.

But maybe it's you whom Allah SWT chooses as a means to establish His house, and what an honour that would be!

Just friendly reminders that:

The prophet Mohammed -peace be upon him- said: The wealth of a man will not diminish by Sadaqah (charity).

And he -peace be upon him- also said: He who built a masjid (a mosque) for Allah, Allah would build for him a house in Paradise.

و تذكروا قول رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم : (ما نقص مال عبد من صدقة)

و أيضاً ( عن عثمان بن عفان قال : سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول : { من بنى لله مسجدا بنى الله له مثله في الجنة } . متفق عليه

Welcome to AMA's Annual Fundraiser

We are very pleased to share with you this golden opportunity whereby AMA is moving towards the completion of the upper two levels of the Masjid (the main prayer hall and the mezzanine for our beloved sisters). With the leave of the Almighty Allah the long wait will be over very shortly and the blessing (ajar) will be forever following to those who support the masjid over the years.

Accordingly, we had a fundraising dinner on May 24th, 2014 at the masjid. Alhamdulillah, by the grace of Allah SWT we collected around $60,000.

And right here, we are having an online extension to the fundraiser.

Insha-Allah it should be noted this will be the final fundraiser before the completion of the masjid and we therefore urge you not miss this golden opportunity and generously donate to this noble cause.

Background on the Project

The current situation of the project originated from the pressing need of the Muslims for a Mosque and a school in the south area of Ottawa. The volunteers of AMA Canada have prepared in collaboration with the management and various specialized offices, a complete and detailed plan to establish the project.

The Plan

Our plan is outlined in the following three points:

  1. Large Mosque that could accommodate around 2000 worshipers.
    1. The mosque consists of a main floor for men
    2. Half a floor for the ladies
    3. A Basement with washrooms, a library and an office for the Imam
  2. School (Intermediate and Secondary) that can accommodate 12 classrooms per gender. The school will be equipped with a lecture hall as well as a gymnasium complete with associated services. The school will insha'a Allah accommodate about 500 students (boys and girls).
  3. A library and offices for the management.

Current Sutuation

Here is where we stand right now:

  1. Purchasing the land (DONE)
  2. Design (DONE)
  3. Implementation (In Progress)

By the permission of Allah SWT, in April 2012 we finished the construction of the basement and parking lot. We have been given partial occupancy of the mosque; we can use the basement and that is where we pray right now.

Where you come in

The AMA is moving towards the completion of the upper two levels of the Masjid (the main prayer hall and the mezzanine for our beloved sisters). Here is an opportunity to get some reward from Allah Almighty and leave a Sadaqah Jariyah.

Here at AMA, already a lot of work has been done with the youth to help preserve their identity and help them be proud Muslims.
