Alhamdulillah, since the beginning of Ramadan, we collected over $10,000 through Jumah and Taraweeh collections. And we're extending our fundraising activities online, in hope to be able to reach our Ramadan target, insha'a Allah.

Indeed Jarîr relates that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever initiates a good practice (sunnah hasanah) in Islam and is emulated by others in doing so will get the reward of it and the reward of all those who act upon it without their rewards being diminished in any respect...  ” [Sahîh Muslim: (1017)]

Kelowna Muslim Congregation

The Muslim community has been established in Kelowna for the past 40 years. It is still a small but a growing community, approximately 150 Muslim families and similar number of international students. In 2001 we purchased an old single story church with the capacity of accommodating approximately 100-110 people. For many years we have not been able to accommodate everyone on Fridays, neither can we hold any community gathering at the Masjid. We just hold regular daily prayers and weekend Islamic School.

Project Summary

• Purchased a house adjacent to the back of the Masjid.
• Use 77 x 77 ft of the house yard  to accommodate new Masjid’s parking needs
• House will be used as revenue generating property or for other Masjid usage
• Remove old building and develop new 3000-3500 sq ft building with full basement
• New Masjid will accommodate approximately 500 plus people
